Off-season, this cafe was not busy but is probably heaving with tourists in the summer. A refreshing mixed salad and coffee was enjoyed, along with the view of the large 20th C statue of Diana, a fountain complex complete with horses, dolphins and riders.
We were charged 15 Euros for 2 coffees and 2 pastries, about double what we paid anywhere else, poor food and service. This was our only bad experience in a one week trip to South East Sicily.

Friends, visiting Syracuse, be ware of this caffe ! If you are a tourist and non-italian they charge you up to double price on the bill, which is never specified. I have tried this a few times and will never return again.
