in fact the worst we had while we stayed in Ortigia. Tried it because our favourite place was closed and we were hungry. The canolli biscuit was okay but the filling was very mediocre nothing like what we have experienced elsewhere.
Yesterday, 15/10 we went to Café Marciante in the Ortigia Island. The server was completely indifferent about us, served without manners and disrespectful. 2,50€ for the worst granita we’ve ever had in Sicily, I swear, it was basically water and ice.
Very popular café with very tasty treats of a large variety. Would totally recommend this café although you should expect that their english is a bit limited.
Stopped in for a breakfast coffee and croissant on a sunny Sunday morning. Got a great table outside in the shade. Staff very friendly and easy going. Very relaxing setting.
Good coffee, great attention – humorous and kind staff-. Varied choice of Italian dolces, and and impressive amount of locals coming for take aways. Good location close to attractions 😉
Walking by, we were attracted by appearance. We were warmly greeted when we entered and the staff provided excellent service. Everything was freshly prepared and very tasty. The prices were VERY reasonable. I recommend this highly to anyone who is visiting the area.
Perfect pastry, friendly service. Nice atmosphere. I am glad I do not live nearby. It would be disastrous for my weight.
