About
Maniace Ortigia is the new living room of Syracuse, a meeting place that moves ideas, culture, people. The bar "Maniace Ortigia" in the new Piazza D'Armi is characterized by an architecture inspired by the figure of the famous Syracusan scientist Archimedes. The structure is inspired by the shapes of the Tangram - famous Chinese puzzle very similar to the Stomachion studied by Archimedes and is covered with a special mirrored material, homage to the great mathematician who according to legend during the siege of Syracuse defeated the Roman ships using the reflection of the sunrays of the mirrors. The bar structure of the Maniace Ortigia is part of a wider project for the redevelopment and promotion of the historical-environmental heritage and the refunctionalization of the space according to the European models of cultural enterprise.
