In a clearing 1,200 metres above sea level amid dense beech and fir woods, Malga Kraun was for years where the people of Mezzocorona brought their animals to pasture. After trying some fine Trentino cuisine, take a walk through the woods along the path called “La magia del bosco” - The magic of the forest - (an open air art exhibition featuring a series of wooden sculptures) to the “Candelabra”, a huge silver fir that over the centuries has become a truly monumental tree. For children there are four educational trails and the farm animals, including a few adorable Lamas. When you come up from Monte di Mezzocorona stop a while to take in the magnificent view over the Piana Rotaliana.
