Charming restaurant located in the basement of the Palace Bernardini (1580). History and tradition on local and Tuscan cuisine, gluten free proposals, private parties, groups and business meals. Cantine Bernardini in the heart of Lucca is a place where you can enjoy your time in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and where the taste of tradition is reinterpreted in new forms. The food is made with local ingredients and the menu changes according to the seasons. The dishes are traditional and include proposals like"garmugia lucchese"(a vegetable soup), tench risotto, roasted cod fish, and original recipes as "cecina milfoil" or veggy gulash. Try the "zuccotto lucchese"! The menu provides also gluten free, vegetarian and vegan proposals. Special proposals for groups, lunch and dinner. My wife and I enjoyed the special fixed-price dinner on Christmas Day — four delicious courses, including an antipasto, delicious tordelli, mixed meat for the main course, and dessert. The service was superb — and our waiter had a delightful sense of humor.

Delicious food with a local touch and very dedicated service – for a very reasonable price. If I had more time to spend in Lucca, I’d go there every night to work my way through the menu. Highly recommended.
We have been there today and the food was amazing. We had ravilioli with chicken pate, tortellini with duck ragu and tart taten for dessert. Every thing was amazing and our waiter was fabolous.
Creative good cooking, Tuscan cuisine internationally inspired, hard to choose because you would love to try it all, supernice atmosphere and team, highly recommended
