The "Mariacallas" Piazza dei Signori Restaurant is part of the ancient Palace of Region, between Piazza dei Signori and the Courtyard of the Old Market. The Palace of Region is an imposing Romanesque building from the twelfth century, built to celebrate the victory of the Veronese League over emperor Frederick Barbarossa. Was the center of political and economic life of the town of Verona in the Middle Ages: here were the administrative bodies of the municipality, the courts and the city market.So we are in the heart of the history of our city. The room itself reflects this long history. The Romanesque structure is found in the solid walls, built with elegant alternation of tuff and brick.
