POKOK PISANG Restaurant was built with the goal of bringing Japanese people and Muslim foreigners who live in Japan closer. Even though they were not our close acquaintances we felt very sorry for them as we can imagine how lonely it is to live far away from their families. That is how we first got to know about HALAL food and what ultimately drove us to open POKOK PISANG. At that time it was still very difficult to get information on HALAL food. We only got the chance to study HALAL in depth from JAKIM when we opened a restaurant in Malaysia about two years ago. Our shop is currently certified by Otsuka Mosque and was originally opened in Saitama before moved to Ibaraki in October 2014. It was difficult but we took the challenge of preparing 100% HALAL food that Muslims badly need.POKOK PISANG has since became the popular hang-out place for Muslim students from Ibaraki University and Hitachis Muslim workers.
