Kodaiji Jugyuan

About

Kodaiji Jugyuan is a Japanese ryotei restaurant, situated close by the Kodaiji temple, in Kyoto, beloved of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his wife Nene. It occupies an elegant 110-year-old house in the traditional sukiya-zukuri style of residential architecture, built by master carpenters Asajiro Kosaka and Sutejiro Kitamura. The 6,600-square metre garden reflects the changing seasons, and was created by Meiji-period master gardener Jihei Ogawa VII. Enjoy Japanese ryotei culture in this luxurious setting, overlooking the beautiful city of Kyoto.
