A Special Dining Experience Overlooking Kyoto Beneath Kiyomizu Temple, at the foot of Mt. Otowa, which has watched over Kyoto for thousands of years, we have opened the newly refurbished Otowa Saryo, where you can take in sweeping views of Kyoto, from Higashiyama (Rakugai) to Nakagyo/Sakyo (Rakuchu). The floor extends out to the terrace and when the large doors are opened you can see Kyoto Tower from nearly every seat in the house. Come and enjoy a relaxing time embraced by the breath of Mt. Otowa. Satisfy all five senses with a beautiful meal prepared using local and seasonal ingredients served on masterpieces of traditional craft. Even if youre just having a cup of green tea, we have done our best to provide you with an enjoyable experience using special items selected from all the good things we have found throughout Japan. Everything you see on the table at Otowa Saryo is available for purchase at Asahi Touan and Asahido Honten.
