THE FUJIYA GOHONJINFormer FUJIYA HOTEL Built in 1648 and situated in front of Zenkoji Temple, the original building was used by the richest Daimyo (feudal lord), the Kaga Clan for lodging when they made their periodic visits to the capital Edo, the former name of Tokyo. In later years, the royal family and various celebrities have used this place for entertainment and social gatherings. The current building, which can be seen now, was completed in 1925. In 2006, it was reopened as a restaurant and banquet venue. Upon entering, you will feel the charm of the buildings history. A spacious lobby greets you.
