Restaurant Džems has contemporary cuisine indulging lovers of life with a range of seasonal fish, meat and vegetarian meals. We love to eat healthy and good quality food, so we provide professional care and subtle nuances of flavour to our guests from our chef Ingus Zandbergs*, who has twelve years’ gourmet experience at MC2 and Ladig`s café restaurants. Cocktails are mixed by the restaurant owner/bartender Jānis Žīgurs* himself. He started out as a waiter, and is now a well-known cocktail guru in the bars of Liepāja and Rīga, as well as knowing the secrets of London’s high class bars. Restaurant Džems heated its frying-pan and served dishes for the first time in 8 August, 2012. Why Džems? It’s like jam mixed of practically anything. The combinations of traditional tastes in usual recipes, and the search for something new and extraordinary. We are also JAMING cocktails that inspire, relax, encourage or release – whatever suits your state of mind! We also welcome ideas and suggestions to serve food of your individual liking. And if you want to learn something new, grab a bar stool and sit by our open kitchen for a hint of our chef's ideas, to crib a masterstroke of cooking, or to discuss the kitchen rules. A culinary experience exchange! Every morning Džems receives fish straight from the fishing boat, ensuring the very freshest fish mainly from our homeland waters. For exquisite celebration dinners, we can provide seafood, delicacies and the best meat cuts of the house. Rise and shine! On weekdays we are up and running from eight in the morning – cooking omelettes, serving fresh sandwiches and pouring the best roasted coffee in Latvia – Andrito - for our early risers. Start the day with a good mood! On Friday night people come thirsty for good music and entertainment after a hard week’s work. Our acoustic live music reflects many styles and trends. In brief – we guarantee you a great jam at Džems! On Saturdays we let you sleep in, with brunch kicking off at eleven, then a leisurely lunch menu till four. Then Džems transforms from snack bar into lounge bar – with fantastic food, creative cocktails and dazzling DJ performances.
