Your must to go coffee shop in Mar Mkhayil. Going to Kalei is an experience by itself, the location is a hidden gem, the decoration and outlet is fantastic. Just check the photos I have posted. Their coffee is roasted to perfection, food cooked to perfection, freshly squeezed juices. Must must go!
It’s a hidden place in Mar Mkhael area. It’s a nice place to chill and relax. The place is cool and well decorated. Personally, I am a coffee lover but honestly kalei’s coffee (and cappuccino) does not taste the same everytime. Sometimes it’s good and other times it’s really bad. Their latte is fine but I did not like their macchiato!
Highly overrated coffee shop. I do admit that the place is cool but the coffee is bad! Really bad. We’re coffee lovers and we are always on the hunt for good coffee but this wasn’t it.It’s sad to build up very high expectations to places only to be met with such reality.The outdoor seating is highly annoying. Some chairs don’t have cushions so you end up sitting on metal chairs that are so annoying.As for the coffee. I ordered a macchiato double shot. They delivered a tiny cup with horrible coffee. I ve never tasted anything like it and I surely hope I don’t taste anything like it ever. Even the V60 pour over was bad! I don’t know about the rest of the menu because When i tasted the coffee I refrained from ordering anything.Highly disappointing.
This place is a hidden gem! I loved it from interior decoration to staff to food!Their pancakes are to die for and their hot chocolate cups are very appetizing but a bit less sugary than what i would have liked, you can still add sugar so no problem.I would recommend this if you feel like sitting in a more or less calm area in the heart of Beirut and have a delicious bite.
I can see whats the deal with this place, and to be honest, it’s overrated. The food and drinks menu are so limited and overpriced, food and drinks were very average. The service isn’t friendly, and the outdoor area doesnt even have fans its so uncomfortable
