We went over for a quick and early dinner at Umi.The place looks okay, the staff was welcoming, helpful and very friendly.There is a really wide variety in the menu and so much to choose from.The salads come in small portions.The sushi tastes fresh and good, but comes in small portions as well.
What a marvelous hidden gem that really really does not get the credit it deserves. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Everything, the service, hospitality (seriously nowadays a lot of restaurants are falling short in this department. A lot can learn from this restaurant), the taste, the atmosphere, THE TASTE! THE TASTE! For the first time I actually felt the salmon MELTING in my mouth. I was yelling at the table at how good it was. Thai, Chinese and Japanese all in one; such a diverse menu and yet still classy with its choices. Will definitely come again and with more people.

If you love asian food and can’t decide which cuisine you want, Umi is the answer.It serves 3 types of cuisine: Thai, Chinese and Japenese. I tried to have a taste of all 3 cuisines and it was not bad at all.Umi is located on the highway of mtayleb and near to Kababji, which makes it very easy and well located.We ordered dynamite shrimps, crispy salmon salad, assortments of sashimis and beef Pho. I personally loved the dynamite shrimps a looot, it’s different than the usual one you taste but amazing sauce. The pho could need some improvements.Prices are very fair and I would go back to try more of the chinese menu.
Well finally I found a place I can eat and actually enjoy Great Thai and Great Chinese as well as Sushi (yet to try but judging from the food so far I am sure I will not be disappointed). I am not even going to name the dishes I tried here because I am sure anything you order will not disappoint. They are in the photos anyway 🙂 The service is Great. The owner is friendly and always present. The food is Fresh and Delicious. Atmosphere is calm and background music and decor is on point. My only complaint is that I didn’t discover this place earlier. I gave this restaurant a try because I wanted to sink my teeth into some asian dishes that night. The place was cozy and the managers were very friendly and helpful concerning what to order.We ordered spring rolls, shrimp dynamite and temakis as appetizers and then we tackled main dishes such as mongolian beef, sweet & sour chicken, green curry chicken and shrimps cashew nuts. Nearly all food items were delicious and well presented, though the spring rolls and some sushi pieces were not perfect. The prices are fair to high but the overall experience was very good and this asian joint is definitely recommended.
Unbelievably good food! Waw. The chicken cashew nuts is a must try!!! The chicken is so clean and cooked perfectly well! The sauce is just on point. The shrimp cashew is as great but the chicken is not to be missed!!
