Time to get down and dirty at my favorite place for lunch, which happens to be the Hong Kong style BBQ pork stall at this casual food court in Kepong(I can also get roasted chicken, siew yok, and roasted duck too)Everything is reasonably priced here (RM6-RM12), I get my helping of protein without the carbs (at my favorite stall), and also it is really fast (2-3 minutes food is ready and sent to the table. The drawbacks to this food court is in its ambiance and its non-HALAL, it’s definitely a health inspectors nightmare; washing vegetables in some plastic tubs, cooked food exposed, and flies just having a party around as you eat. I solemnly swear I have never gotten sick here though, like not even once. Also, this place is cash only, so make sure having RM 10-30 in hand. The taste of the food varies because there are many stalls, however from my experience having the BBQ pork, the food has never been disappointing. The roast chicken (I usually have breast in a huge serving – protein overload) is always moist and tasty. Perfectly cooked and roasted to perfection. While the siew yok (roasted pork belly) has always had that signature crispy taste and a perfect balance of fatty and lean. Their roasted BBQ pork is tender, slightly sweet and quite lean. My favorite is their fire breathing chili sauce, I swear this sauce is very tasty and makes my taste buds scream in happiness but it’s also deceivingly hot. The drinks and food is served separately. Usually food is ordered at the particular stall and brought to the table once its prepared, and paid upon delivery. The drink works the same way too, order and pay on delivery, except a random server with no uniform would be coming to the table and taking ones order. Parking can be quite an issue, however I did notice a paid parking lot right in-front of the food court. An alternative to that is to park at AEON big (free parking) which happens to be next to this rather casual food court. Business hours starts as early as 11AM, and runs to 11PM or later. The food court has more vendors active at night, during lunch time there is probably 8-10 vendors active.
