My go to dim sum. Wish their service was faster. The food is really enjoyable and my favourites has to be their BBQ chicken chee cheong fun, yam croquettes and salted egg yolk buns. Some of the dishes aren’t quite up to the standards of other dishes.
This Chinese New Year, Hilton Kuala Lumpur introduces its selection of Chinese delights and delectable dine-in menus. Themed the “Year of Blooming Abundance”, Hilton Kuala Lumpur will be bringing guests on a gastronomical journey like no other.A way of bringing happiness to the table this Chinese New Year season to spread a little happiness to your loved ones and share in each other’s joy. With the festive season, you’ll notice many people taking part in the ‘Yee Sang’ tradition, otherwise known as the Prosperity Toss to usher in the New Year. It’s in this season where family and friends come together to toss a dish while sharing in each other’s joy. all set menus include variety of dishes believed to best of happiness, friendship, protectiveness, honest, friendly, faithful, loyal, smart, straightforward, venerable and have a strong sense of responsibility characteristics commonly associated.
After yet another meeting-packed day, I was too tired to leave and decided to have dinner in one of the restaurants in the hotel. As I was checking the menu here, a group of Chinese businessmen entered which convinced me to try the place. If the food is good enough for them, then it must be good. The outlet is classically designed. The layout is reminiscent of restaurants frequented by high society in Chinese period films. Red, an auspicious and popular color in Chinese culture, is prominently used throughout. Motifs like lanterns, intricate oriental plates and terracotta warrior art-depiction are heavily used in the interiors. From the physical aspect alone, the outlet is undeniably Chinese.Service was very good. The crew was very attentive. The moment I sat on the table, I was immediately given the menu and then approach by another staff for some hot tea which I politely declined. I watched how he served tea to others and the style was both classic and artistic. I recalled being served tea in the same fashion in only one restaurant in Singapore and a couple in China. It was a delight to watch the staff handled the long pot like a sword pointed to the cup, perfectly serving tea without a spill. Skilful will be an apt description for this guy. Courteous is another adjective I would use to describe the staffs. In each interaction, they have all been so polite and soft spoken. For my meal, I ordered steamed king siew mai with foie gras mousse as a starter and deep fried boneless chicken with pomelo plum sauce for main course. I was expecting the usual dumpling serving of four pieces so I was very surprised when the dish came and there was only one dumpling on the plate. The thought that was going through my mind was whether it was a joke. To the restaurant’s credit, it was really delicious. The rich flavour and buttery texture of foie gras was enough to sell me this dish. The chicken was nice but hardly a standout. I viewed it as another take on lemon chicken, except that the pomelo plum sauce was less tangy and more sweet. The chicken itself was crisp to perfection, yet still soft and moist. The sauce did not really work for me. Perhaps more of pomelo and less of plum could have been better because the latter gave it a really sweet taste, too sweet for my liking. It was a good dining experience. Based on those I tried, I am convinced that somewhere in that menu are dishes that will leave me at awe. I was playing safe when I selected my main course. Next time, I will be more adventurous. This is one great restaurant but be prepared to burn a hole in your pocket.
The set we chose and what they served is different in the menu. pretty slow and not quality. Not really worth the price. They started to panic and messed up orders when they’re busy.
Amazed by Excellent service provided by all the staffs in Chynna restaurant with special thanks to Miss Cheah Yip- Manager of Chynna restaurant in recommending of delicious and tasty food to me on every occasion that I patronize this outlet.
