I ate here as it looked the busiest, and everybody looked like they were enjoying their meals. I ordered two ayutthaya chicken egg noodles, one ayutthaya beef egg noodle, Thai omelette rice, chicken wings, grilled chicken meatballs, Thai blended green tea, and a Thai ice red tea.The boat noodles all tasted the same, just with different meat, but that’s expected as I did get the same sauces. The chicken noodles didn’t have chicken pieces in them as I’d expected, rather just one chicken meatball. The chicken meatball in the noodles was very soft, and I didn’t like it very much, not because of the taste, but just that soft texture is not a favourite of mine. The beef was good, the meat was tender. The soup base was okay, very flavorful but nothing special to be honest. The Thai omelette rice came with a small side of curry sauce. I loved that curry sauce as it gave the rice some extra flavour, and I would have loved more of it to go with my rice. The omelette was very oily, and I felt a little sick after eating it; it definitely needs more rice to help combat that oiliness. Instead, I drank all my Thai green tea very quickly, trying to feel less oily and sick. The chicken wings were great, very crispy, and quite flavorful, but very very tiny. They came with a sweet chilli sauce which was a nice extra, but I didn’t dip too much of it. The grilled chicken meatballs are much nicer and firmer than the chicken meatball in the chicken noodles, but they were very chilli.Service here is okay, not the fastest, and your food comes out very randomly, eg. our sides all came out but no noodles till we’d finished everything already. It would have been nice to get everything together, or at least close together. I paid about $49 for my meal for two, but it wasn’t very filling, as the portion sizes are very tiny.TIP: if this is your first time having boat noodles, the trick is to order a whole bunch of them in different flavors, as the portions are tiny and it’s meant to be eaten as several different bowls and then you stack them as you go through them.
I think it’s okay. Tasty food. I don’t like the drinks. There’s so little tea and too much ice. Portions are really small and you’ll end up ordering many bowls till your full. Total rip off.
