Paid a visit here on a weeknight, it’s not crowded which is good. The ambience is great. Food tasted like homecooked meals, although the portion for the white rice is a bit small. You might wanna order for two plates of white rice if you’re hungry. The cocktails here are excellent, especially the lychee martini.

Came here just as they opened. Ambience is excellent. Pie tees are a must have! The assam fish was however too oily and the curry chicken did not have a spicy kick or enough coconut milk in it if any. The veggies were ok. Chicken pon teh was alright. Desserts (cendol and ais kacang) were excellent cos of the brown sugar that was used. Very very nice. Servers were a little spaced out. Probably cos we were one of the earlier ones there? But it was past 12pm. In short, go for the appetizers and desserts. Entrees/Mains were kinda forgettable.

Conveniently around the corner from where we were staying, Limablas provided a Nyonyan alternative to the international food offerings that dominate the neighbourhood’s restaurant scene. The décor was rustic and faintly familiar; a decorated boomerang on the wall above our table, and a Victorian license plate mounted to the storage unit adjacent, it almost seemed like a (very) small country pub.It wasn’t just the décor that was rustic; the food, too, had a homely appeal contrasted by complex but balanced flavours (especially the ikan masak kunyit!), although the kankung masak sambal belacan turned out to pack a little too much heat for one of us!
