I would skip this one since there are so many other options. Food wasn’t terrible but overall quite bland. From the grilled fish which lacked flavour and seasoning, to the uncharred satays served with a watery sauce. Stick to WAW.
Driven by my cravings for authentic Chinese food, hubby took me here 🙂 Situated at the heart of Bukit Bintang, Jalan Alor became famous as the Best Hawker Food in Kuala Lumpur. It is where you’ll find a lot of seafood restaurants and hawker stalls. For our dinner date, we chosed Restoran Meng Kee Grill Fish. Their Grilled Chicken Wings are awesome! It’s very juicy and with right amount of tenderness too 🙂 Other dishes that we ordered are Fried Rice, which I find quite oily, Fried Keoy Teow, Beef Satay with Peanut Sauce (yummy!) and fried prawns in grated radish I think :). I guess they’re one of the crowd’s favorite because the place is filled that time. There were also times that we have to wait for our other orders due to number of people they’re serving. Price is quite touristy as well because of it’s popularity in KL. But to sum it all, hubby and I had a great time and satisfied tummies as well. We’ll definitely go back 🙂
Went here for breakfast. Ordered hokkien mie, seafood fish paste soup, and grilled fish paste soup. Taste quite OK, broth could have been thicker. The waiter was rude, definitely underpaid and untrained
I came here on the recommendations on the back of my fellow reviewers. This is undoubtedly the poorest restaurant of my trip. The first seating was due to a poor overworked teenager and the second when relocated was due to a series of the rudest waiters and waitresses who wouldn’t stop to give you the time of day no matter what language you speak. I don’t care if the food was pure ambrosia, you’d never get it with those wait times. Avoid like Typhoid Mary.
Char Kwetiau is just nice, not too sweet. Really like the oyster omellete and the stingray. The price is decent as well. Very recommended for dinner or supper.
