This is considerably okay. May not be the best around KL for buffet but just to experience Japanese food, this one is fine. I don’t like when food are not served hot. Some are hot though, but not all. For the desserts, you won’t have much choices. The location also is a bit shady when you’re new. No signages on the lower floors or even at the building door to indicate if Saisaki is really there or how to get there. Overall, 3-star for me for the balance of pros and cons.

Saisaki is a Japanese buffet restaurant that has lost the plot. I vaguely remember my first visit here about 10 years ago and at that time, it was the top Japanese buffet in KL that people look forward to eating at. Now, it’s a totally different story. My company held a team lunch here recently and although I came with zero expectations, the food still managed to disappoint.

They have an extensive spread of sushi & sashimi, which was all pretty fresh and sumptuous. They also have a tempura counter, where they have a variety of batter fried stuff. The lamb shanks deserve a special mention, as the meat was quite succulent. By the time we were done with the main course, we were really full. But, that did not stop us from making a few trips to the dessert counter. They also give you a token that can be redeemed for premium desserts. We had this cute of ice cream balloons, which oozes out ice cream continuously until it is over. Although it is quite a task to finish up with the balloon, it was fun and worth it. While this buffet is more of fusion of Japanese dishes with few popular dishes from other cuisines, the price is quite fair for the quality and variety of food on offer. The service is quite polite and affable. Tip: you are better off parking in KLCC and taking a nice stroll thru the pedestrian walkway.

Yesterday was the first time my friends and I tried Saisaki. I would have to say that they have an impressive lineup of buffet spread.Although some of the portions are small, but they replenish it pretty fast. The only setback was my appetite was not as big as many, or else I would eat my money’s worth.
