Generous and tasty foodie in KL near Pwtc area, personally love their rice wine chicken, braised turnips with belly and braised intestine!! Their muichoy pork is a little different, the fatty pork is very good while the muichoy taste kinda sweet and fresh. Love it! Good for family dinner!
Pork stomach soup – strong peppery taste, very hearty. Stomach is thinly cut which is really good and has amazing chew texture. I do find this lacking in a slight sweetness though. 4/5Braised pork – decent but overly watery, pork is good and the fats with skin has a nice chewy texture. 3/5Preserved vegetables with pork – rather normal dish whereby it isn’t salty enough. Again the meat is decent. 3/5
Great old school food in a one of a kind location. Ah heng dishes out a small selection of amazing food that are mostly gravy based. Do try out their specialty pepper soup with pork intestines, though I find it heavy on the pepper side, and lacking in actual taste. On Wednesday and Thursdays, they serve vinegar pork trotters, which is another local delicacy. Their curry chicken retains a home cooked flavor, which goes down absolutely great with just plain rice, so make sure to order some of those. Other dishes include the usual vegetables, and also their signature pork stew with radish, which despite being second in popularity, I find it more appetizing than the pepper soup. Individually, none of them are to die for, but the overall selection will promise you a fantastic meal in a great setting. Once you are done, don’t forget to take a stroll around the neighborhood to check out the old houses that seemed to be stuck in time.
A single serving of the soup with strips of pork stomach and a pair of chicken feet costs RM9, a fair price considering the portion size. The soup is extremely peppery (as expected) but appetizing, best enjoyed while it’s still warm before the flavor goes flat.
