I was able to try this place because of my local colleagues. This place is a hidden gem in the busy streets of Kuala Lumpur. The location is very near to KLCC but the place is not crowded. The facade is just simple and relaxing. Upon entering the resturant you will feel that you’ve been taken back through time in the fifteenth century. The place is decorated with old furnitures with industrial vibe. This resto serves babanyonya cuisine (Peranakan) which is a hybrid of Malay and Chinese cooking style. This cooking style origanated in Melaka where Chinese immigrants married native Malaysians. The food were very flavorful. All of them was good. One of the firsts that I’ve tried and is one of a kind is the Pai Tee. It’s a crispy tart filled with veggies and shrimp on top. It’s best topped with chili sauce when eating. Also, I loved the Ayam Berempah. It’s a unique kind of curry cuisine with mint flavor in it. It’s tasty and refreshing.Next time, I want to go back and bring my friends here. It’s one of the best cuisines I’ve tried in Malaysia.
One of the best authentic hospitality ever had in a restaurant. This is a peranakan restaurant where Chinese cuisine meets Melayu sauce, source, and ambiance. The servers are very helpful with funny style. They very like to talk with the guests. The food tastes are great, especially the stingrays (pari) and mie siam. However, I didn’t get the Nyonya Laksa, their favorite menu because I came in the day that they didn’t sell it (Mon, Wed, Fri only). Unbelievable taste, unbelievable ambiance. Great job Baba.Must try Peranakan Ale (ginger and soda).
Very nice place and efficient serving. We order nasi goreng bihun laksa and roti jala all served few minutes after order. Portion is generous and taste is Ok. Very nice vintage decoration. Could use a free-wifi so foreigner visitors can directly share this nice place with friends and family. Easily located just behind Sheraton and few walks away from LRT station.
