Had brunch here with family. Their service is great! Thank god i can grab a table during lunch today, unfortunately dinner is full house already. I really love love love their truffle infused roast duck! a must come back! Thank you.
Tried the truffle roast duck (you have to order 24 hours before) & it’s the only food I liked here. Place was too quiet, hard to find the place. Not too crowded during weekdays.
Visited Way on my husband’s birthday with 13 other guest and 2 kids. I made it clear it was a celebration to Way the night before. Here are my impressions: 1) Guest arrived with kids, none of them offered baby chair. 2) I called for help to ask how should I order to feed 15 pax, they gave me the iPad menu. I had to asked for the set menu which cost RM388 for 4 pax, and RM788 for 8 pax. I called for help the second time, they suggested me to take RM788 for 8 pax and add RM75 per person. The complementaries are a choice of a bottle of wine, roasted duck (1/2) or salted egg prawn. *NONE OF THE COMPLEMENTARIES CAME. 3) RM788 set comes with a plate of Thai Steamed Dragon Garoupa, they placed it on the long table and left us to it. My guests had to get off their seat and distribute the fish themselves that’s meant for 8 pax. Are you out of your mind? 🙂 4) Everyone is starving before the Salted Egg Fried Rice came. Which I expect a restaurant like Way will noticed the number of pax and ask whether we need any white rice, or the pace of the dishes to delivered out. None, zilch. 5) The bill was RM1,500 in total. My guestS are not fed, RM75 per pax for RM788/8pax. I might as well take two RM788/8pax so I can feed everyone and I get double of everything. I was charged RM128 for service. Not sure what service did I get thou. 6) Waiter/waitress level of attentiveness is pathetic. I made a complaint to their Facebook page. They wanted to invite my husband and I to their other restaurant named Ploy. Well, birthday was ruined, humiliated in front of 15 guests and I paid RM1,500.00 for the meal. Ridiculous.
I have been to Way’s on a Tuesday night and like many time, there were ups and downs about the visit.First of all the entrance – it is an elevator door, yet there is no elevator behind it, but the entry to the restaurant. A pretty cool gimmick that I haven’t seen like this before. What you will find behind it, is an elegantly designed dining room in dark colors – however not a crowd. Perhaps it’s just not the place during week days, or it simply isn’t that happening anymore. We had a bit of everything from the menu. What left positive memories was the fried chicken in a salt egg batter, the lamb carree with perfectly tender meat and wonderful seasoning. Rather disappointing was the Wagyu meat that came with fried rice – the Wagyu tasted like an average piece of striploin and is definitely worth paying a Wagyu price.Service was alright, not too aggressive but sufficiently present to accept additional orders when there were any. Overall Way is a solid alternative to go for one’s craving for dumplings (apparently that’s the popular lunch) or for business dinners that require a more elegant setting that a Din Tai Fung franchise.
