My friend and I ordered two mentai rice, one grilled ocean trout and teriyaki ocean trout. Although the food is good, especially for the mentai rice, however the portion is a bit small and they are pricey. Overall experience is okay.
Disappointing. The quantity and quality is not up to expectation at all. Really only the mentai rice is worth trying. We felt the place is overpriced given the ambience and quality of food served. We had teriyaki ocean trout and steam cod. The steam cod was OK but ocean trout was not fresh. The whole kitchen was managed by immigrant labours whom I don’t think they know Japanese cooking at all. Didn’t try the sashimi coz I dun think I can trust them at all.
My go to place for Japanese casual dining. No longer frequent establishments like Zanmai, Hokkaido Sushi or Rakuzen to get my Jap food fix. Yes their menu is limited, but really people, look for quality and not quantity. But I have to say their Bonito has a very strong fishy taste – maybe not everyone’s cup of tea.
