La Cucur is a Malaysian-style cafe at the basement level of Suria KLCC. The cafe is decorated with Peranakan-style motifs and marble-top tables which resembles those in traditional coffee shops. Besides snacks like curry puffs and Malaysian-style cakes or kuehs, the cafe offers a variety of Malaysian meals including Nasi lemak and curry mee.I ordered several of their kuehs but they taste absolutely awful. Hard, insipid and stale, the kuehs were simply not fresh and unchewable. Plus they were pricey.
Great tasting Malaysian sweets at LA cucur. This was recommended by a friend. The two sweets we tried were kuih ketayap and kuih lapis. Both were delicious coconut based sweets. The taste was great and there is always a huge line to get food here.
I love the food at this place! So delicious. The place, however, is small and always packed so it’s not so easy to find a seat.. Especially if you’re in a group. The nasi lemak bungkus is great, the laksa is awesome, and almost everything else is nice too (I usually have the nasi lemak or laksa cos those are my favorites.. Yes, yes, I know you can’t have two favorites). The traditional cakes (kuih muih) are nice as well.
