This restaurant has great ambience and settings, a typical high end Chinese restaurant. However the foods are lacking signature taste. I always expect Chinese food to have savoury taste, which I can not find in any of cuisine served here.
â–ºBottom Line : I had been here for dinner multiple times during my stay at Intercontinental. It operates on the first floor of this massive hotel. This restaurant offers you authentic Chinese dishes.A destination for Chinese food in its true style.â–ºMenu –  The menu offers a delightful concoction of Chinese dishes. â–ºPlace – Immaculate place with stunning interiors. It is catalyzed by dim lights which gives you an authentic  Chinese ambiance and a cosy feeling to dine in here with loved ones. ►Service- Hospitality was great. Staffs are very polite and professional. They are highly proactive and there was not much delay in executing our orders.â–ºMy Dine in Experience –  I had been here for the dinner. I have tried their Yong Chow Fried Rice with diced prawns and barbecued chicken ( Non Veg) , Veg Fried Rice with fried bread crumbs on it t , Stir Fried Chicken with Sichuan Pepper Sauce , Deep Fried Boneless Chicken with Lychee sauce, Sweet and Sour deep fried diced  Chicken fillet. In the drinks we had their Jasmine Tea. (1) Yong Chow Fried Rice with diced prawns and barbecued chicken – It was great. We ordered this dish for 2 days. Fried Rice was very tasty and it was perfectly prepared with required ingredients like spring onions , carrot, prawns, chicken  etc. The quantity was amazing. We ordered  3 portions for 5 people. (Highly Recommended)(2) Deep Fried Boneless Chicken with Lychee sauce – It was a sweet dish made from Chicken. The gravy was very thick and it had only less content. Overall the dish was good.(3) Stir Fried Chicken with Sichuan Pepper Sauce – We ordered this dish for 2 days. It was spiciest among the main dishes we ordered. It was red in color and It had more number of big a red chilly pieces compared to chicken pieces. Overall It was a good dish ( Recommended)(4) Sweet and Sour Deep fried diced chicken – It was somewhat sweet and it was glaced in honey. the gravy was thick(5) Jasmine Tea – Its similar to our green tea and its their herbal drink. It has got its own values gives an aroma of jasmine when served. We ordered a pot and it contained for more than 5 glasses. (6) Veg Fried rice with fried bread crumbs – It was good. But the Yong chow fried rice was better . It’s a vegetable fried rice along with fried bread crumbs on it.The quantity was also good.â–ºCost- Cost is standard. We were 5 persons and we had to pay 60 ringgits.â–º Final Word –  If you prefer to taste some popular taste buds of Chinese cuisine and you need a break from the ordinary, Then Be here ! It’s good place to indulge in authentic Chinese dishes. Good hospitality and very good service makes it a good option.
Tao Chinese Cuisine is InterContinental Hotel KL‘s signature restaurant and it has a reputation of serving some of the best pork-free dim sum in town. What better way to try them out than indulging in their all you can eat dim sum promotion? Priced at RM78 nett per person, the buffet is only available in the weekends and public holidays. It’s ala carte style so you will be ordering off the dim sum menu which includes selection of various steamed and deep fried dim sum, congee, rice noodle and snacks. In total, there are 49 items to choose from. With that said, I feel the overall quality of the dim sum here is just alright.
