Had their ham dan spaghettini, hot mocha and Black Forest pavlova. Ham dan spaghettini is kinda special as it contained salted eggs but a bit creamy for me. Black Forest pavlova was not bad too but I prefer pavlova at ben’s.
I felt like a spoiled child here, and you know why ? because there is a gourmet coffee store called Plan B Roasters, serving only the finest lattes, flat white and more located within this stunning high-end grocery store (B.I.G) , and right next to it (literally like a few steps from the cafe) is a gourmet ben’s bake shop, with all the cheesecakes, chocolates cakes, macha cakes and etc I could dream off. I can kill 3 birds with one stone when I’m here (how awesome is that), get groceries, have my fancy cup of coffee, and indulge in a fatty rich slice of cake- all in one place. The ordering style here is, order and pay at the counter and the drinks will be served to the table. As I had mentioned before, the ben’s cake shop shares a common seating area with the cafe- meaning you could pair coffee and cakes together in the same common area. There are water bottles provided and glasses for drinking but there is no table service- so expect to get them yourself. Now despite the almost perfect setting and luscious product. Their staff is seriously inattentive and uncongenial (staff did not greet nor acknowledge customers when they were standing at the counter)- I do hope they could improve on that. I think their coffee taste great, their caffe latte RM 10 is perfectly served in picardie 8oz glass, and the froth is done immaculately- with the signature tulip/ heart shape foam. Their coffee has a lovely aroma, and doesn’t have a bitter aftertaste, very smooth, and not to acidic. Other than caffe latte, they also offer ice blended drinks, smoothies, fusion teas, cold brews and even some fancy styles of coffee such as pour over, aeropauses, clever dripper and cold drip. Everything is pretty affordable ranging from RM 6- Rm 22. (including GST)Majority of the seats here are the table and chairs variety- modern metal chairs and tables from pellets (very chic), with a central sofa seating area complete with a coffee table. There is even a free wifi, for those who wish to do work. I think with a little staff training, Plan B roasters is the perfect place to get a coffee with friends and family.
