Originally called Tang Shifu, they re-branded to this after few years of operating in KL. Originating from Johor, they had all the right elements of serving healthy nourishing Chinese dishes. We all know there is a dearth of options in that segment. Unfortunately, their prices were a bit too high for the average masses that the hype died down to the point that they began converting the shops into health supplement/good shop before finally closing it down. Or at least that’s what happened to their Damansara Uptown branch.
I had the set lunch noodle with soup. I order this chicken soup and noodles because its the cheapest set on the menu. Rm15.90. Noodle looks really plain. But it’s tasty with additional chilli padi. I find it overpriced for simple noodles. The chicken soup was really good and tasty. It has ginseng inside. The place is really empty and only a few tables occupied. I find the chairs by the side creepy because it’s covered by red cloth.
Not recommended. Not flexible with customer request . Ordered Yellow wine mee suah and requested to be no chicken as we didnt want to waste them. Unfortunately not allowed so ended up to dump. The fish porridge was so salty and they used a low grade scallops and the whole bowl of porridge tasted fishy.Overall not a pleasant experience at all.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes; flavoursome and generous with ingredients. Decor is just like your average café of the same category (namely the clean, bright, standard four-seater tables of the Din Dai Fung variety). My only comment is that for a soup specialist I expected more variety of soups, especially the familiar favourites like old cucumber and lotus root, but these were missing from the menu. It’s a nice place to add to one’s repertoire of family dinner options.
