My family, friends and I have frequented this restaurant for lunch numerous times. This restaurant is situated at an idiosyncratic location, smack in the residential area full of double storey linked houses at the border between Taman Tayton View and Taman Connaught. The open air restaurant is built under a giant and old aged tree with lots of wild and home grown plants around some of the corners of the restaurant. Very unique dining experience! This time we ordered their signature soy sauce fish head (ching cheng yu tao), vinegar pork trotter (chu kiok chou), long bean with roast pork, deep fried special seafood tofu. All these dishes were very flavourful especially the soy sauce steamed fish and vinegar pork trotter. The steamed fish flesh was fresh, juicy with smooth and tender texture. The soy sauce blended seamlessly into the fish flesh thus bringing out the freshness and sweetness of the fish. The shredded ginger and julienned spicy little chilli (chilli padi in Malay language) helped mitigate the fishy smell and taste of the fish. Besides, they also delightfully elevated the taste of this whole dish to greater heights. Real yummy!Their vinegar pork trotter was very well cooked, delivered in an old fashioned small claypot. The pork meat was not too soft and not too hard as they were half lean and half fatty. The black vinegar had penetrated deeply into the pork meat thus making the meat so tasty and juicy. I loved the vinegar broth the most, it was very appetising and addictive as the broth had a perfectly coherent taste of sweetness and sourness. I couldn’t help myself from finishing the whole pot of vinegar broth.I tried all their different cooking styles of steamed fish too, and all of them tasted equally good too. The styles include ginger sauce (kiong yong) fish head, tom yam fish head, soy sauce (ching cheng) fish head, sweet and spicy bean sauce (cheong cheng) fish head. The most commending point is that the prices of their dishes are very reasonable. In fact, the prices are relatively way much cheaper than lots of other restaurants that offer similar kinds of foods.Food & Beverage : 8/10Service : 6/10Price : 9/10Ambience : 7/10
