LG-K2A, 1 UTAMA SHOPPING CENTER1, Lebuh Bandar Utama, Bandar Utama City Centre,Bandar Utama, 47800 Petaling Jaya. Â Are Malaysians such a gullible lot that we would queue up for the latest food in town? Can the same be applied at the train/bus stations, while driving? Uncle Tetsu opened to people queuing up for hours to get their freshly baked cheese cake. I waited long enough (like few years) before eventually getting one. There was no queue at all though they do put you on sort-of a waiting list for the next batch. So there’s still some waiting but that’s to ensure you get it fresh out of the oven which is very important.
It is located inside the 1 Utama shopping mall and I visited it along with a friend to try the Japanese style cheesecake. They do not sell half or quarter pieces so we had to buy the full cake. We decided to try the Original Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecake which cost us a total of 20.10 Malaysian Ringgit [19.90 RM for cake and 0.20 for plastic cover].It is super light & fluffy and you can smell the flavors of egg and cheese. It is difficult for two of us to eat it completely so we took back half the cake to hotel and ate it the next day. This outlet also sells different varieties of cheesecakes like the Durian Musang king , Matcha or the Chocolate cheesecake. You can also buy cheese tarts and cheese stix here.
Favourite Japanese cheese cake of all time.Fluffy and light yet rich in flavour.Recommend the original flavour than the chocolate one but it depends on personal preference.Their cheese tart is rather sweet for my liking
Okay, highly spoken about the cheesecake here, I also had to try lah! After the event, quickly I dashed, stood in the queue and bought back one cake for RM21.00. I actually was only interested in buying one piece to try out but well, you either buy the whole cake or none. Back home, 3/4 of the cake given to the neighbour and the 1/4 I tried. Well, perhaps, certainly and surely quite nice – soft and pillowy and not over sweet but to say the best among the rest, sorry I won’t.
Light, soft, fluffly, airy, fresh and just delicious, it literally melts in your mouth. It gives a very different experience from the rich and dense American cheesecakes which we are accustomed to. I could easily pop a few of slices of these without feeling ‘jelak’ at all. In the end, the wait was more than worth it.
