Tucked away in the backstreets. Pick your beer from fridge, pay for it, sit down right outside. Beer very very cheap and lots of fun indeed.
The place to go for inexpensive beer and the opportunity to meet fellow travellers in an informal and convivial atmosphere. I was just delighted to find this place and not get robbed for following my hobby of making beer disappear. Long may it prosper!
It does not get any cheaper than this in Penang. Go here for the rock bottom prices as the ambience is nothing great because you have to sit on the road itself (plastic chairs are available provided they are not taken already).
Set in a street corner you can get something cheap to drink and eat at ‘the local store’, then you just grab a chair / low stool in front of it and find yourself a place to sit. Perfect!
