Had some drinks and food for the first time with a couple of buddies. Food took a long time to be served even though it was not crowded.Particularly liked the pork neck we ordered, and reordered a second serving. We were told they ran out of pork neck literally at dinner time of 8pm with not even half full crowd! Utterly disappointed.Lastly we ordered a set of 5 beers, three of us had the same recollection that only 3 mugs were served. But the waiter told us we had the full set. They don’t have a proper system to keep track of the number of mugs served apart from a scribble on the order sheet. The customer will not have a record. We argued that all 3 of us are pretty sure only 3 were served. But the Chinese lady manager was not even bothered about our complaint, she countinued opening a bottle of wine and have her pork rib dinner with a guy friend. The waiter didn’t even ask if we were done drinking or eating, cleared our table.We saw no point in prolonging the issue and duly paid and left disgusted with the level of service particularly from the Chinese manager.After getting back our change, not even a word of thanks from the employee.Thanks but no thanks, this place is overrated.
Good ambience, great staff and great choices of food. The sweet potato fries and dip were yum! So was the pizza. The ribs had a great taste but felt a tad bit dry. More sticky sauce recommended and they wud be perfect. Great choices of beer. Loved the ambience.. very cozy.
Goldbar is located in Tropicana Avenue. This area is a bit nee I think because there are still vacant places in the building. The place is perfect just to drink beer and snacking. It has a good selection of non commercial beers. However, there is not much selection for cider and the food was not really stellar. The pizza, I believe they use frozen pizza. And the other food just so so. The Bailey’s Oreo Milkshake was great though. Pricewise it was okay in my opinion. A bit too expensive for food but for drinks it was okay. Service was also okay. My reccommendation is to come to goldbar just to drink the beer, please don’t have dinner here.
Last weekend my makan kaki and I had an enjoyable dinner at Gold Bar. It’s a relatively new restaurant and bar in Tropicana Avenue that offers mainly Western and a mix of Asian flavors.As if you need more reasons to have a beer, Gold Bar’s menu will also satiate your porcine cravings. Whether it’s roast pork, pork chop, BBQ pork knuckle, BBQ ribs, grilled pork neck or pork spring roll – they have it all and more!
Gold Bar has 20 types of craft beer from Austria & Germany and they are the sole distributor in Malaysia. Chinese New Year is just around the corner and what it meas? Alot of gathering with friends. Recently, I have discover a new bar which is not too far from my work place is Gold Bar that is located inside this new building – Tropicana Avenue. They are not your typical bar as they serve full craft beer from Germany and Austria. They do have a few from the taps too.
