This place has been around for so long that it’s hard to tell when they started. Any PJ dweller would be familiar with this stall that operates outside a closed coffee shop with their customers sitting on the road side, spilling to the back lane. When I first got to know about them, it was from fellow colleagues. Only takeaways, never eaten there before.
I had very high expectations for this place as I’ve heard rave reviews about it for ages and I’ve known people that would travel long distances just to get a taste of it. It’s located in the food hub of Seapark and comes alive during the night when most of its surrounding eateries have closed for the day. Fairly easy to spot as it occupies the whole alley right behind Maybank. The alley is quite neat and tables are clean. However, there is no shelter so do not come during rainy days. Service is pretty fast and efficient, our food arrived within 5 mins after ordering. The usual order is a plate of nasi lemak with fried chicken (RM6). Portion of rice is quite small. The rice is grainy as opposed to moist and fluffy which I prefer and is not as fragrant as nasi lemak bungkus. Sambal is tasty but quite runny. The star of the show is the fried chicken, super crispy and flavourful. They use alot of Indian spices for their coating, giving it a very unique flavour. However, the chicken is abit undercooked but still safe to eat. You can also get typical mamak drinks at RM2 per cup. Portion is abit small though.Overall, I would say it is super overrated and is not really worth a long trip. The crowd starts building up around 8pm so do come early if you can’t stand the noisy ambience. The place opens until 4am so I guess it appeals to the locals that are up for late night suppers. Would recommend to try at least once but do not have high expectations as it is definitely not the ‘Best Nasi Lemak in the Klang Valley’ XD.
My brother brought me here for the first time few months back, been going there a few times now. Its kinda cool to see the tables and chairs on the alley way that goes way to the end of the block. Fast service, you can see the waiters walk/run from one end to another very fast while carrying the food and drinks without spilling them. Though sometimes, they tend to mix up our orders especially when we add on special requests. but no harm done. the rice was different in a nice way albeit the portion is too small especially for a big eater like us. the chicken uses a lot of Indian spices which i like even though my younger brother disagrees. i supposed that depends on ones preference.will definitely come here again.
The place is always crowded with hungry food lovers, but they have lined both sides of the alleyway with tables and chairs. Their star, nasi lemak ayam goreng tasted nice, but not as extraordinary as the hype claims to be. The rice was a bit grainy with different aroma from usual nasi lemak. Sambal was average and not too spicy. The chicken gave off Indian spice and herbs taste, which was different from the usual nasi lemak eateries. The dish also came with slices of cucumber, fried peanuts and anchovies, and fried egg.
