The expectation with food chains is standard, and consistency. This particular outlet delivers just that, with cakes that are fresh. Sometimes, they don’t have the exact cake that we’re after – but better that, than having a full display of stale cakes.
There’s no big secret at Secret Recipe. Been existing for many many years, almost one outlet at every area and the eatery for almost every other meal. Secret Recipe’s main dishes has never really tempted me. Well, been like that all these years except maybe twice, I have tried their lamb shank which should and must be raved.Now with this outlet at Kota Kemuning, every now and then I drop by to pack my favorite carrot cake. This cake is just so good and for someone who is not a big fan of sweet stuffs, the carrot cake somehow has won my heart – the butter icing not overly sweet and the cake with bitsy of carrot and generous amount of nuts. Quite spectacular actually. Â I also tried the lave cake for the first time and because I packed it back, Â it does not come with the butter icing. As told, the icing will melt when warmed up but warming up is essential to ooze the lava in the centre of the cake.Service here sometimes can be pretty slow even when there’s only a few customers. In fact, the previous time I was here, I had to wait for almost 10 minutes just to pack the two cakes.
