Tried beef shawarma . It was great. We only ordered one since we decided to give it a try but it turned out great. Will come again next timeP/s : it took awhile for food to ready(as most of it is grilled) . Its best not come with empty stomach. Do eat something light before u come.

I’ve eaten at Nasi Arab Taif three times as of the time of writing this comment. Nasi Arab has always been a rather interesting food to me since while I really enjoy it, a lot of people around me don’t. This results in me more often than not just not eating it. As of late however, I’ve been more free to test out restaurants all around me, and this has allowed me to eat more Nasi Arab than usual. Thankfully, this store does not disappoint.Nasi Arab Taif’s main draw is, obviously enough, its Nasi Arab. The type of rice used is long grain basmathi, as it should be. The rice is fragrant and appealing, and every rice set comes with a generous portion of lamb or chicken. The chicken Tashreeb I tried was well seasoned and very tender, while the soup provided wasn’t the best I’ve had but did its job well enough. The chicken Maghdud on the other hand was more like most of the Nasi Arab’s I’ve had where the meat is really tender but lacking in taste. The prices here are standard for an Arabic restaurant, though depending on what you take it can be higher or lower than usual. The portions given are large, which means some meals can be shared between two people if you aren’t heavy eaters like yours truly. The place itself isn’t exactly gourmet, but it is well lit with white lights and the staff are very accommodating to their customers. I haven’t tried everything on the menu (I’m eyeing those pizzas), but I definitely recommend you try the lamb or chicken Tashreeb. Overall, a decently solid experience. The maghdud dishes fall a bit more in line with your typical Nasi Arab, but there are a ton of options here and the portions are generous. Just don’t expect a gourmet experience and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Went to the branch in Subang Bestari, quite a big portion for the Maqluba Lamb i’ve ordered, yet still managed to finish it. Fragrantly served after waited for quite some time, perhaps due to the season of Ramadhan. Loved the lamb with the rice. Service might need to improve in terms of explanations of the foods in the menu, and practice first come first serve (to provide menu automatically to customer instead of just provide menu to the family of 5, that came after me, and ignoring me). Overall experience was quite satisfying, will visit again to explore more.

It’s easy to discount Arab food as being nothing more than an assortment of kebabs, shwarmas and grilled meats. I too was under the same impression before visiting Nasi Arab Ta’if, and embarrassingly admit that I was initially visiting to pick up a lamb wrap. However, a quick look at the menu is all it takes to open up your imagination. Sure, the regulars are there – chicken and beef shwarmas, lamb kebabs and other delicious skewered delights – but what the people really come here for see their signature family sized rice dishes. Since I was visiting alone, I couldn’t partake in the chicken or lamb platters that looked like an Arab version of Nasi Briyani, however every other table that was occupied had at least one of those monster plates on their table. Instead, I picked a Palestinian lamb dish – Tashreeb Lamb (RM20) – which was available in a single serve portion. The lamb was slow cooked in foil, perfectly marinated and tender to the bone. It was so well cooked that it lacked any gaminess, and the layer of fat just melted in my mouth. The meat was accompanied by fluffy Arab rice, a light salad dressed in yoghurt and a tasty tomato sambal. Mixed together, all the elements worked well and I polished off the dish in record time. In terms of ambience, Nasi Arab Ta’if won’t win any awards – the setup is humble but clean, and the staff are happy to accommodate your parties seating requests. Tables are routinely joined together to host family sized parties without any objections. I requested to sit outside, and the helpful staff pulled out a foldable table for me. Am definitely looking forward to returning to sample their other offerings some time soon!
