I LOVE PAK JOHN STEAMBOAT. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am when my sister takes me to Pak John at Ecurve. We are regulars, so we go there for lunch and dinner and we always get the prawn soup. There’s something about the prawn soup that makes it so tasty. Sometimes the buffet line isn’t so great, but who comes to a steamboat and grill to eat the buffet line? I always get the chicken nuggets though because chicken nuggets is bae. You have to get the fresh meat slices, especially the lamb and the smoked duck. Some people have told me that their seafood is not really fresh, they should not be using margarine to grill the meats, the refilling of food is quite slow and their floors are slippery but I never ever had a problem with Pak John. It can get a little crowded during the weekends, so go on the weekdays if you can. Affordable price. Wish they had yee mee! Always always finish your dinner with their waffle. The guy at the waffle place may not seem too interested to serve you, he is very grumpy, but he makes nice waffles. Cheese tofu my love!!! Beverage selections are great as well
I have been here december last year ago, definitely worth to try here, and then I try the new outlets at ioi mall, it’s not as spacious as ecurve, but it have outside dining table (just try not to seat outside because the food is inside the retaurant), everyone here write review comparing the seoul garden. Despite my review, I prefer pak john steamboat more than seoul garden in many ways. It’s tomyam soup is worth to choose because the spiciness, and really yummy. This restaurant have many variety choice of fresh seafood and dessert. Most importantly my lovers like the imported duck, he takes a lot of it and end up too full. I’m not sure about time limit, because when i went there, there’s no staff say that’s there a time limit. The staff really friendly. For the grill plate, they will change it to new one when the grill is too much stain on it. When they change almost 4-5 grill plate for us. One fried dish i try here, nasi goreng udang but no shrimp XD, with sambal sotong, it’s so tasty. Everytime i go take the meat/chicken, there’s no unpleasant smell at all. Just fresh smell. But with all the food me and my lover eat, make our stomach so full, but with dessert, ais kacang bring our stomach to new level till we fight to eat dessert.Dessert: ais kacang, ice cream(mint, choc, vanilla, strawberry), waffle with variety of topping(can choose) if you are creative enough, can top it with ice cream, sagu gula merah, cendol, i think there’s a lot (i donno why people said not many choice of dessert)Food: assorted seafood but for fish only dory, meat marinated with honey, pepper, and many, chicken meat is same as meat, a lot of fresh vegetables :3(the fav among the others), fried food, different menu each dayHighlight: imported duck(highly recommend), meatI highly recommend this for someone doesn’t like seoul garden meat.
The first outlet was opened at eCurve Damansara, in many steamboat restaurants Pak John really fits my taste. Most of the steamboat restaurants does’t not come with huge variety choices, we could see the same choices all the time. our dining experience will be capped at 2 hours, though they are rather lenient with time limits, especially during off-peak hours. The place is huge in & out, It can accommodate about 150-200 pax per seating. The setting is well-furnished, Ambience is extremely conducive for big groups and families with kids as well.
A very nice restaurant if I may say. The food and beverage quality are good, whilst they also offer special meats with better quality. The variety of the sauces also one of their advantage and the important is that they are serving the spices which could fit with my taste.
