Apparently, this shop is a branch of the original Yang Kee Beef Noodle Shop located along Peel Road, close to the Kuala Lumpur city. Thus, this Yang Mooi restaurant can also be called Yang Kee Restaurant Pandan Indah Branch. The original shop has been operating more than 4 decades by now. As for this branch in Pandan Indah, it has been established for about 20 years.Whenever I am in Kuala Lumpur, I will definitely go for my favourite dry beef noodles at this Pandan Indah shop. I normally ask for beef balls and beef slices which come along in a bowl of clear hot beef soup, coupled with another bowl of dry egg noodles topped with minced beef in black soy sauce and choy sum (mustard greens).Stir and blend the minced beef with the egg noodles well before you eat with the beef balls and beef slices. You may dip the beef balls and beef slices with the chilli sauce which is not really spicy. The chili sauce goes well with the beef balls and the beef slices. The beef balls are bouncy and springy whereas the beef slices are tender and not too overly cooked. I love the clear beef soup too. Some people commented that this soup is a bit salty but I personally think that it is just nice and tastes comforting though. They have recently come up with a new invention to invigorate the taste buds of those who like spicy stuff. This newbie is their dry fried chilli. For those who love spicy stuff, just add a small scoop or two of this dry fried chilli into the egg noodles and then mix thoroughly. The noodles will then unquestionably become tastier and more appetising! I am one of those chilli lovers. This newly invented chilli is certainly a powerful booster to the whole bowl of already yummy noodles. Some of my friends love to order dry noodle with ngau chap (beef mix) which consists of beef balls, beef slices, beef tripes and beef tendons. If you don’t like beef, you may try their dry noodle with pork balls which is equally good. They also have sui kau (soup dumplings) and braised radish with beef brisket. These are all yummy too.The setback is that the air ventilation in the shop is quite bad especially during hot sunny days. I could see there were air conditioning units on the ceiling but don’t think they are functioning as there wasn’t any cool air venting out.The young guy, I guess he may be the owner’s family member, may appear to be a bit unfriendly and may sound a bit abrupt when taking your order but he is generally an OK person. The other waiting staff are much friendlier.Food & Beverage : 8/10Service : 5/10Price : 6/10Ambience : 5/10
