Ambiance was great, very clean and well decorated. The waiters were very kind and helpful. However I found that the food wasn’t up to expectation, the carbonara looked appetising but tasted quite bland, the taste was very mild. The caramel chocolate cake was pretty good, very sweet and soft!
When they first opened up few years ago, the buzz word was healthy. Awesome Canteen decided to be awesome, offering Paleo diet-friendly menu. I’m all about trying out new stuff, being healthy, all without breaking (my) bank. Most of the crowd here are either hipsters or elderly, which is unsurprising because your kids ain’t gonna enjoy a meal here. The flavors are clean and light that it makes McDonald’s taste like a salt mine.
Love the surroundings here. The food here are awesome especially the paleo section of the menu, ordered paleo grilled chicken breast and I’m in love of the sides of veggies that comes with the dish. Refreshing, crunchy and doesn’t need to add more salad dressing since it is SO good on its own. The gyoza is mouthwatering good and fried baby prawns is also delicious The banana & avocado smoothie soo delicious.
Been to Awesome Canteen multiple times with my partner, family and friends as well. I really really love their fish and chips and is a dish that i would definitely recommend as it comes with a really interesting and tasty dragon fruit sauce. The cakes here are also pretty good as i tried a few of them before like the burnt cheesecake and lychee cheesecake. The prices are really reasonable here as the prices are inclusive of taxes. The staffs here are also super friendly!
