My friends from New Zealand and I visited this restaurant during our last trip back to Kuala Lumpur. We ordered traditional prawn mee, prawn mee king, Penang traditional lor mee, stew chicken feet. The prawn mee king was the most expensive one as this bowl of prawn mee contained big prawns, squids, pork ribs, pork tails, pork intestines, etc.All of the foods that we ordered were very delicious. The broth of the traditional prawn mee and prawn mee king was very flavourful with heavy and sweet prawn taste and aroma. The penang traditional lor mee was very good too. The black and thick gravy was awesome. We just couldn’t help ourselves from swallowing every drop of the broth and gravy. The stew chicken feet was very well stewed. The black sauce just blended very well with the chicken feet. The skin of the chicken feet was very tender and smooth. Every bit of it was full of their own-recipe spices. The restaurant was clean and neat with air conditioning. Therefore, we felt very comfortable dining here. This place is a must go whenever you travel to Malaysia. My personal favourites are the traditional prawn mee and the penang traditional lor mee. I really miss them badly now!Food & Beverage : 9/10Service : 6/10Price : 6/10Ambience : 8/10

The portion is very small. I like Penang chee cheong fun as having prawn sauce. Choose Set B as cheaper with barley dessert with boiled egg during weekdays.

Prawn Mee was one of the classic dishes in Malaysia. If you happen to be a big-time prawn lover be sure not to miss the opportunity to try it out. Flavourful prawn broth will definitely make you fell in love with after one sip. . Choon Prawn Mee House was one of the legends stationed around Petaling Jaya area, the prawn noodle business first started as a hawker stall at first then slowly grow and expand until into a shop over the years due to the popularity of their signature Prawn Mee.

RM 8 for their normal prawn mee. The portions are very small. Soup is delicious but prawns definitely not fresh. Ordered their noodles with big prawns and squid. Big prawns so not worth it. It’s soft and mushy which obviously means it’s not fresh at all.

One of the perks of staying in Petaling Jaya is that there are many good Penang food around. Among them, Choon Prawn Mee House is one of my recommended places to go for Penang-style prawn mee. However, do note that the soup here leans towards sweet, so it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Since relocating from their previous spot at O&S, they have expanded their offerings to include some other Penang signature items such as Chee Cheong Fun and Lobak. It makes sense because they are now operating from a shop now and there must be variety in the menu. But I am here just for what they specialize in – prawn mee.
