I’ve been going to this store ever since I was a child. Chicken rice is best served with their ginger.Siew Yoke and Char Siew are good alternatives too but cannot beat their chicken rice.Weekday lunch time is always packed. Best to come earlier.
The portions used to be quite generous, but not anymore.There seems to be a stinginess when it comes to the sauce provided these days.Used to be a regular ta-pau customer, but not anymore.It’s become like just another stall selling the same stuff.No idea why.To me, they’ve kinda lost what distinguished them from the others.Maybe they’ve taken their success for granted, and have let standards slip in terms of serving their regulars.This is more common than restaurants would admit.When it comes to charsiew and siewyoke, the sauce is vital.Why be stingy ?
