About
I would never recommend this Cafe Bar to anyone. We had coffee in the morning when we arrived in town and it was ok. Later we stopped to have a beer and some chips. We asked for a Regular Modelo and a Negro Modelo and they brought a bucket with 4 beers in it. Also a shot of Tequila (which we had not ordered.) As it was delievered the waiter said two for one and a special welcome drink. When we were done and ready to pay they tried to charge us $29 for the beers and chips (even though the beers are listed at $2.50 per beer on the menu. The menu also mentioned the special two for one bucket. We refused and paid $15 for the beers and two coffees our friends had. We left and by the time we had walked a half a block the waiter with two police cars arrived and wanted us to pay for the full bill. We explained that the menu and the waiter stated the price and we only owed the money we paid. We told the police we live in San Diego and come to TJ regularly and the prices he was stating are way above all the other cafes on the Avenida. The police were very friendly and after they found out we weren't just tourists who didn't understand he asked us to give the guy two dollars more. We did then he told the man to leave us alone. This club is crooked as the day is long and no one should ever go there. If you do you will get ripped off. Instead go down the Avenida to Cesars, or to the shopping area by the arch where there are a couple of nice places to eat and drink.
