I’m never disappointed with Vera’s Borscht. It comes with pumpernickle bread, a small potatoe salada, sour cream for the soup, and more. Her cakes and pastries are legendary!
Basically, this small space is a bakery of sublime pastries, but they also serve light lunches mid-day. The best PavlovaÅ›. coconut cup cakes with a smooth cream inside, the finest moca cakes with imported bitter sweet chocolate ganache.
Red beet soup – warm water with pile of beet wedges, potato filled raviolis with raw potato, black tea very pale. How they get good reviews is a mystery.
It was Sunday, special event (Dia del Loco parade) so couldn’t find any open cafes. Great Cafe Latte, with real milk. (it seems hotel coffees always watery) Menu looks good and had a signboard explaining the Russian dishes in detail (English)
Delicious food, handmade pelmeni was amazing! And the best cakes in Mexico I’ve tried! Vera is very nice host, I learned a lot about the city from her.
