We recently spent 5 days in the Xochimilco neighborhood of Oaxaca and had breakfast every day at Ancestral! What a beautiful setting with delicious chilequiles, hot chocolate, quesadillas, and a variety of other traditional dishes. This is worth the 15 minute stroll outside of Centro!
Great place for traditionally prepared meals in a lovely courtyard dining room with mature trees and the old aqueduct arches as a back wall. Not open for dinner, at least at the time we were there.
Ancestral Cocina Tradicional is an amazing breakfast spot. A bit off the beaten path, gorgeous outdoor courtyard seating, great (mostly traditional) music playing, and tasty food. Can’t get enough of their awesome chilaquiles!
This place is wonderful, a great experience of the Oaxaca regional food and become the best of Oaxaca for me with the beet food and mezcal !
Authentic Mexican food you must try when you are in the neighborhood. Great outdoor dining in a garden. Food was great and good service.
