El Jardin is a centrally located tropical garden, serving breakfast and lunch from Monday to Friday. The place is a lush oasis and quiet sanctuary with trickling waterfalls, calming music and abundant bird sounds, tucked away between the busy streets and shopping malls of downtown Playa del Carmen. All ingredients are fresh, local and organic when posible. The kitchen is Mexican-Yucatecan with a European twist of the Czech owner, hence; Comida YucaCheca. Every Friday night El Jardin presents Noche de Divas. The owner Paula Liebe and a group of fellow performers sing a selection of Opera, Boleros, Chanson and Jazz. At the back of El Jardin you can find a large house which is rented out a vacation rental, by the day. Its called Funky House in downtown Playa.
