About

This is a space inspired by the movement of wind, sea and snake-like heads of the mythological Hydra. The undulating and light cover represents this movement while covering an open space well integrated into its context. In this large terrace, the natural materials of the region are found and transformed through local vernacular construction techniques. Limestone rock in the form of stone, gravel and lime made by the craftsmen; exotic tropical woods such as jabin, parota, chechen, zapote and tzalam; red clay and coconut fiber that provide the walls with insulating thermal properties; jungle plants; and the love and the sweat of those who build it using hands and feet in the elaboration of bahareque, ancestral Maya construction technique. As its food, the architecture is based on the use of raw materials extracted directly from nature and modified by local hands.
