Chooj, a Gastronomic gallery, is the Restaurant of Yaax Hotel Boutique in Mrida. As you enter through the doors of Yaax, Chooj is situated on the right and shows the high beamed ceilings characteristic of houses from the end of the 19th century colonial Mrida. Previously a painter and sculptors gallery, Chooj continues to be a gallery displaying the work of artists on its walls. The Restaurant is a beautiful and cosy space that allows the guests to watch the preparation of the dishes through a glass wall, which makes it very unique. Chooj specialises in fusion cuisine where every dish uses the freshest Yucatecan and Caribbean ingredients that are sourced from local communities and markets.
