It was a Saturday night and me and my boyfriend of 13 years decided to go out for dinner. We thought we would try this place as we drove past a few weeks ago and thought why not. Anyway back story over it was quite possibly the worst meal ever. I ordered the pasta with chicken, bacon, and mushrooms. The pasta was guy, the bacon was actually thick ham, the mushrooms were gloopy, …however the chicken was nice…all 4 tiny morsels of it. I left most of it in the bowl…I ate the 4 chicken morsels…My boyfriends steak was chewy and grisley. And the chips were soggy. He left most of it too. There was no atmosphere it felt like we were eating in someone’s cold lounge room.I noticed that neighboring tables had left a lot on their plates too.

We have been to Avenue 28 on previous occasions for lunch and dinner (but not for some time), so decided to revisit and sample the current menu. The menu is primarily Italian based, so we went for the Creamy Asparagus risotto ($20) and the Roasted Lamb pizza ($15). The risotto was creamy with large succulent pieces of chicken, but the mushrooms were scant and the asparagus chopped up a little too much. It was however tasty and filling. The pizza had a light crispy base with a good mix of lamb, kumara, potato (substituted for the advertised pumpkin) and red onion. The pizza was full of of flavour and was delicious. We ordered a bowl of fries as a shared entree and the fries were cooked well and nice and crisp on the outside. Overall good value for money.

Came here for dinner with my partner. We had pizza bread with cheese for entree, chicken roulade and sirloin steak for main and cream brle and passion fruit cake for dessert. All of our food courses are lovely and we enjoy every single bite of it. The chicken roulade are definitely the star of the dish! It so moist and creamy and not so overpowering! Even on a busy night, the staff still try their best to serve us and ensure that we enjoy our food. Atmosphere: Food: Service:
