nice little store near the library and kell park. I had the katsu chicken set, good amount of food for $12 rice, chicken, miso and a salad. The only part I didn’t care much for was the miso, found it a bit bland. Ill defiantly be back to try out a few more things on the menu when i’m in the area.
Haru’s a favorite of mine when looking for Japanese. There sushi is tasty, and the donburri a sure winner for a healthy and filling lunch. The staff are also very friendly. If you’re in the mood for an Asian style lunch, check out Haru. Would recommend to friends, family, and followers.
Was actually really disappointed with the takeaway meal I received. The sashimi don was pretty much salmon on rice, no salad or sauce. The tempura was uncooked, and the tofu was sloppy. For the price you pay the standard could be higher.
If you want to have Japanese lunch around Albany and you want to avoid having to go to the mall, this is the place for you to go!!!The food is amazing and the sushis are so cheap and yummy! they are as little as 1$ per sushi!I eat lunch often and been a client ever since i discovered it 2 years ago.My top favourites:-As a huge meal (if im too hungry i get the chicken katsu donburii)-As semi big meal for lunch, i get the teriyaki chicken with mayo(this is their signiture definately they sell way too many of these daily) so so so goood. They make their own teriyaki sauce so its definitely something to try!-sushi..-They also do salmon fireballs! awwwhhhso QUICK so Yummy…
Haru where are you???? Oh there you are! Who knew you were hidden in the back streets of Old Albany Highway? Well now that Ive made it, ate it – I will rate it. I dined on both the vegetarian gyoza and fried tofu for starters – of which, both were yummy – The sashimi platter was plentiful – however the tuna and prawns where slightly floury as I could tell it wasnt fresh, perhaps defrosted, however the salmon was delicious. I then moved on to the fried chicken don buri – I forgot I dont like Karaage chicken but accidentally ordered it – so I wont rate it. I must say all and all it was nice. Haru also offer up my favourite green tea with roasted rice kernels mmmm. Anyways the front house lad was super friendly and very attentive. Great for a quick and cheap lunch.
This is a great little sushi shop. The food is fresh, varied, delicious. They have platters so no need to create more plastic rubbish. Nice ambience and friendly staff. I make a point of calling in when I go to Albany. Once you know where the Albany library is, they are easy to find; right next door.
I’ve been excited to write this review.I always visit a place 3 times before writing a review on menumania, and this place has been particularly difficult to visit due to their new open/close times. This place is amazing, although it is very quiet as most people only order takeaways (probably causing the strange open/close times), the food is very, very good. Most dishes are the same price that you’d expect from similar Japanese restaurants, although of considerably better quality. The takoyaki I ordered as an appetizer did not have watery dough after a bite, it was firm and well cooked, seasoned perfectly with chewy octopus in the middle.Set menus are also delicious, I need to suggest that the use of more brown sugar in the teriyaki, as it lacked glaze and sweetness. The interior is very small, with wooden tables and chairs. The reception of the TV inside also needs work, but all this makes for a very peaceful feel which matches the serenity of the dishes well. The waiter who serves you also doubles as the cashier, and does his job well enough.Definitely a good place, would recommend.
