The food portions was bad. Not only that the fish was over cooked and hard. The miso soup tasted like soya sauce mixed with water and mayonnaise smothered the salad. It took them 50min to prepare our food when it should’ve taken half an hour.

Our true rating is 3.5As mentioned previously we enjoy Japanese food, therefore we tried the Haru in Albany village recently for lunch. The cafe is small but does have a few seats inside and outside. It offers quite a wide range of menu options, and some good lunchtime specials around $10. We chose the chicken karaage don buri and the chicken Katsu. The karaage which was accompanied by a salad and rice was OK. The chicken Katsu which was accompanied by spicy rice balls was similarly OK. The rice balls were very tasty, and an unexpected addition. Overall the food is good and the serving size adequate for a lunch.

Ordered takeaways from here a few weeks ago. The online ordering system doesn’t work and they had to call me to get the order right. Took 45 minutes for our order and it was early dinner when they just opened. Even then when we came home the order was still wrong (was given the cheaper tempura when we ordered and paid for the tempura don meal). Sushi ok but the 25 dollar Bento box wasn’t good value at all. Maybe you get more dining in?
