Something very different. Food out of this world. Prepared fresh and not the norm (werternised food) Traditional food. Hand made buns as well. I think there are 5 flavours.Really worth the visit and you can even order takeaways online for delivery.
Food ordered:Sweet & Sour FishSteamed RiceBill: $23.80Big tummy: We were searching Albany to find somewhere to stop for dinner and, seeing that this place was packed, figured it must be pretty good. Having looked at the dishes on the tables around us, the portions looked massive so we decided to order one dish to share. For the price tag of $20.80 for sweet & sour fish, we assumed the dish we ordered must be one of the shared dishes anyway. I’m not sure what everyone else in the restaurant had ordered, but when our meal arrived, it seemed to have come from a different menu. It was just your standard plate, which would usually fetch around the $10-12 mark at most restaurants. The food itself was tasty, though there really wasn’t much fish to be found. It was more a plate of sweet & sour batter and vegetables.I certainly wouldn’t say that dining at Chinese Xibe Cuisine was a bad experience, but unless we were served the wrong dish, the price tag was fairly steep for a single average meal.Little tummy: I’d previously tried the sweet & sour chicken at CXC, so decided to give the sweet & sour fish a try. The food itself was tasty, but I found myself picking through wads of batter to find any signs of fish. Sadly, decent pieces of fish were few and far between, leaving us eating sweet & sour pieces of batter and vegetables. We’d previously been here before and had a better experience, so we’d likely give CXC one more try.
Really impressed with this local eatery. Food was really impressive. Great selection on the menu. Very affordable dinner out with very hospitable staff. Will certainly go back and recommend this place to all. Don’t expect anything flash but great experience and value for money. $50 for 3 great meals.
