This place is the best Korean restaurant to have Korean BBQ. I went for marinated pork BBQ. It was adequately marinated. Not too sweet. The price and portion was good. Highly recommended!

Han cook galbi definitely has best quality korean meat in Auckland. Owner used to run Korean bbq place in Korea so meat is marinated very authentic style. Per portion for marinated meat is $21 per portion however their meat is thicker and so tasty. Service is good but they dont use charcoal and side dishes is very basic.

Its closed and not running anymore. So dont bother to come because it has changed to a Chinese restaurant. I was very enjoying their soy bean soup and the good quality meat, sad to see it closed.

My husband was willing to drive all the way to Albany as he was craving for a good bbq meat. We’ve been to this place long time ago and it was always a positive experience. When we went this time, things were different. We ordered Fresh Galbi (beef), Marinated Pork Galbi, Spicy tofu soup and Spiced Skates (fish of some sort). Fresh Galbi had a strange odour to it and was marinated in oil – maybe it was too old. The pork also didn’t taste nice. Side dishes were changed too. The salad that I enjoyed so much had a different dressing which wasn’t tasty. Tofu soup was ok – there was nothing special about it. It was around 8pm and the chef and staff were having dinner and drinks on another table. That was the only other table occupied other than ours. We felt bad bothering them every time we order something. However my husband enjoyed the spiced Skates – he said that this is hard to find in restaurants. When the waiter asked if everything was ok, we told him how the beef smelled funny and the meats doesn’t seem to be fresh and etc. He said that he was going to pass that onto the chef (who was eating and drinking in the other table) who didn’t seem to care much when he heard it. So basically it was a waste of money and petrol for this place. lovedbykatie.com

Great to find such an authentic and laid back Korean restaurant. Have been a number of times and always enjoy it. Food is great, service is very friendly.Authentic coal bbq, not gas, just like the real thing in Korea. Its not flash but the experience and food speak for themselves.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon just as it opened at 5pm so it was empty just for our group and another. The staff was attentive and water was provided. We ordered a selection of meats all which were fresh and tasty. Espically the samgyeop-sal. It wasn’t very filling but that would be because we didn’t order rice. Overall it was good and I would like to return.
